The final Babel of 2017 - arrival imminent!
The final 2017 issue of Babel is nearly ready! It concludes a bit of a theme running through this year's Babels - have a look at the covers of each of this year's issues to see! The No21 cover relates to this issue's Meet the Professionals, in which we meet Jessica Coon, the linguistic consultant on the Hollywood film Arrival.
We are very pleased to bring you the winners of our 2017 Babel Young Writers' Competition. This year, our undergraduate winner is Abhishek Dedhe, while Dong Hyun Kang takes the prize for the 16-18 category. We hope you enjoy Abhishek's article on the difficulties of bilingualism in America and Dong's look at tales of historic language wars.
