In celebration of our 10th issue of Babel, we are hosting The Inaugural Babel Lecture at The University of Huddersfield’s state-of-the-art Heritage Quay.
Join us at 7.30pm on Friday 13 February 2015 for an evening of linguistics.
Brendan Gunn, accent and dialect coach to the likes of Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, Penelope Cruz and Robert DeNiro, will be marking the occasion with a public lecture on ‘The Breath of Meaning: Applying Linguistics’. Reflecting on his academic work in the fields of dialectology and Sociolinguistics, Brendan will explain the importance of linguistics in his work with actors, relating this to ideas from Babel’s first 10 issues.
This is a FREE event and is open to the public and Babel readers. Please book a place for this event by visiting EventBrite.
